A holiday should be a break, and you’ll get more from it if you leave work behind completely. If you’re going on holiday tomorrow and there’s no time for a proper handover, these three quick steps will keep things ticking over while you’re gone.
1. Set up your email auto-reply with an alternative contact
Don’t feel you have to tell people they can still reach you. Give them a colleague’s name and number instead. If you have Get Ahead holiday cover, point them to your virtual assistant.
2. Divert your phone
Put your calls through to another team member, or book our telephone answering service so a real person answers in your business’s name. Even if you’ve never worked with us before, we can usually set you up within 24 hours.
3. Schedule your social media
Stay in touch with your community, but keep it simple. If you’re short of time, reshare some evergreen posts from last year, or links to recent blogs, videos or web pages. LinkedIn and most other platforms let you schedule posts for free, so you can line them up before you leave.
Want your calls, inbox and admin covered while you’re away? Find your Regional Director and we’ll take care of it.
