Having worked in the fast-paced sector of fresh supply chain for 20 years at senior management level, I learned many key skills. Customer service was one, as well as managing stake holders and having a high attention to detail. In supply chain you get to understand how each different areas of the business can impact on each other and that some small changes in processes can have a big effect on the overall business’ performance.
With this experience I wanted to do something that would help smaller businesses and give me more flexibility. I joined Get Ahead at the beginning of 2018 as I loved the idea of being part of a wider team, but still running my own business and making my own decisions. I’m passionate about getting to know our clients and what they want to achieve. Working as a part of their team to identify what expertise they need to move their business forward. I match the client with the most suitable team expert to deliver the work and support this process to make sure that we are delivering the work to high standards.
I love the fact that I’m not limited by my own skill set, to help provide the support a client needs and that I can draw on our team of experts to get the right skills. Our clients come from different sectors and we support sole traders right the way through to businesses with a turnover of over £2mn. What they all have in common is that they recognise the benefit of outsourcing some element of their business. They value the expertise we can bring and the flexibility we can offer, as well as our dynamic capability. We support clients with one off project’s that will help move their business forward, with ad Hoc work, as and when needed and for others we are an integral part of their team. We often start working on one area of a business and then grow the services we provide as the business grows and we can adapt how we provide the support.
