Update your CV with LinkedIn and you could see a big difference in your online engagement.

Last year, LinkedIn launched a new program in collaboration with Microsoft Word: Resume Assistant. This gives you a new way to look at LinkedIn Jobs, through a Word document, so that you can check job recommendations and profile information whilst editing your CV or job posting.

Although the Resume Assistant has not yet been rolled out in all countries, once it arrives in the UK it will be a useful tool for anybody who regularly uses the Jobs section of LinkedIn, whether to apply for new positions, to find candidates for jobs, or to research skills and qualifications. By April 2017, LinkedIn had reached half a billion members in 200 countries. That’s a huge universe of people based on just one website, providing a great opportunity to raise awareness of your business.

LinkedIn continues to innovate in order to remain relevant for their audience and rolled out live video from July this year. You can now post live video directly onto LinkedIn, in a similar way to how you would post video to Facebook using Facebook Live.

LinkedIn Pulse is a self-publishing platform.  This means that you can write articles or blog posts and rather than publishing them just on your own blog or website, you can publish them on LinkedIn.

Access to a worldwide audience

The immediate benefits are obvious.  For your own website or blog the audience will be limited to your website users – or possibly your social media or email database audience if you publicise it using these means.  However, publish an article on LinkedIn Pulse and potentially you can hit the millions of users worldwide currently registered on Linkedin – and even those without Linkedin accounts.

Publishing on LinkedIn Pulse can also benefit your SEO, providing good quality links back to your own website.  Your Pulse posts are listed on your profile, so publishing regularly can improve the appearance of your profile, as well as your influence within the Linkedin network.

So if the benefits are obvious, how do I get started?

Pulse used to be a standalone news aggregator app which LinkedIn purchased in 2013.  It has now been fully integrated into the LinkedIn desktop, so you may even be using it without realising it.  Every time you choose to click on the box ‘Write an article’ as opposed to simply sharing an update, you are publishing on LinkedIn.

The key steps to posting your first article are as follows: (more…)

In this guide one of our marketing and social media experts Kimba talks about a lesser known Twitter tool – Tweet Jukebox and how it could be a real asset for your business.

Many people have regular content that they want to send out to their Twitter audience, but we all know that not every Tweet gets read by every one of your followers.  By tweeting links to your website content or blog posts on a regular basis you are giving them the best chance to be read by the widest number of people.  But scheduling tweets on a regular basis can be time consuming.  You need to remember when the last time you scheduled it was, so that you don’t become too repetitive.  The free app Tweet Jukebox can do all of that for you, maximising the penetration of the content you have spent time (and/or money) developing.

LinkedIn can be an excellent marketing tool for your business.  From simply posting updates to sophisticated advertising campaigns, there are a number of ways in which you can harness its’ potential.

One way you can use LinkedIn in your social media marketing strategy is through Showcase pages.  Showcase pages are an extension of your Company page and are usually used to represent a brand, business unit or company initiative.  They are designed to build up a long term relationship with followers of the page, so are not suitable for short term marketing campaigns or events.
