When & why did you join Get Ahead VA: 

I joined Get Ahead VA at the beginning of 2021. 2020 was a year of great change for so many people, but for me, I took the opportunity to take charge of my life and do what I’m really passionate about and move forward in a positive way! Get Ahead VA gave me the opportunity to develop my business and customer base.

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA? 

In October 2020 I set myself up as a VA after leaving my role as a Project Manager in a sustainability consultancy. Creativity is my passion and as a project manager within a sustainability consultancy, I was able to work with my clients to create and deliver bespoke strategies that inspired their creativity and fuelled my fire, alongside organising events, creating presentations and supporting them with general project admin I developed a passion for working with ambitious and driven individuals. I take a great deal of pride in my work and am meticulous in its delivery. I am used to a very fast paced environment and I thrive working to deadlines.

As a person, I am self-motivated, driven and adaptable. I pride myself on thinking ‘outside the box’ in order to carry my job out in the most productive way I can. I enjoy finding solutions to problems and I get a considerable amount of satisfaction from doing a good job for the people I support and gaining their trust.

Career highlight to date:

Working in a sustainability consultancy I supported all my clients in delivering truly meaningful and impactful results for their businesses. Supporting them on their journey to net zero and delivering tangible results was truly inspiring. I absolutely loved seeing them reduce their impact on the environment and delivering positive change and supporting the communities that they operate in, whilst engaging all their employees on their CSR strategies.

Plans for the future: 

I’m excited about developing my business network and working toward being a full capacity VA supporting businesses and individuals on their journeys.

Alongside my work as a Virtual Assistant, I also run a High Welfare smallholding with my husband and 2021 is going to be a big year for us. Working on sustainability strategies with various big players in the food industry opened my eyes to the provenance of our food and the importance of educating ourselves on the meaning behind labels.

We are proud of the work we do with our animals and the transparency behind the products we sell.
