When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in September 2023 as wanted to still be part of a team whilst working with multiple clients within various industry sectors.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have been a finance director for the last 18 years within the highways construction industry. This is a very intense industry with no week working quite how planned. The diversity of my role has enabled me to have a wide range of skills when looking into a business which gives me a rounded approach to challenges and how to circumnavigate them. Having dealt with compliance, certification, HR as well as finance I have put that to good use in being inclusive with all department heads so everyone understands expectations which lead to a transparent team approach to business development.
Career highlight to date:
Setting up a business from start to finish – when I say that – writing a business plan and finding an investor to setting up systems and attaining industry accreditations and see the company grow from zero to £35M. Tackling growth issues and change management along the way to keep the business current and able to support its growth.
Plans for the future:
To support businesses and make use of my skills learned along the way. I really want to reach out to support businesses grow and ensure owners / shareholders are fully informed as to how their business is doing. I have an open style that encourages great communication and collaboration and thrive on variety of work task.
