Here’s 60 seconds with our expert Jennie:
Area of expertise:
Stylish, responsive WordPress websites and graphic design that help businesses stand out.
When & why did you join Get Ahead: I met Rachel at a networking event and liked what she had to say. I also liked the design of the VA matrix postcard that explained what a VA covers. I then had a call booked in with Joanne the day I met her at another networking event the following week! We work on a rush job and the client was really pleased with the results.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I’ve always been passionate about design and attended Glasgow School of Art where I studied design and photography, and then received my Master of Design.
Since then, I was appointed Head of Design at Drummond Media, took a year to learn the language and fall in love with the art and architecture of Italy, then moved back to London where I was an in-house web and graphic designer at Fairbridge and The Prince’s Trust.
In 2012 I founded Tree Duck Design a collaborative web and graphic design agency that helps female business owners get visible online with stylish, intuitive design.
Career highlight to date:
At the end of 2019 I decided to take some time to build my business, undertake further training and turn it into the collaborative agency it is today. Unfortunately, COVID struck, followed by homeschooling, but still I managed to build my business and make some amazing connections with a network of like-minded, supportive female entrepreneurs.
I’ve just launched The Website Boutique – a strategically designed website package aimed at female business owners that includes web design, photography and copywriting in one beautiful bundle!
Plans for the future:
To build my collaborative agency and help more women launch their businesses online with pre-determined themes and custom built websites.
