When & why did you join Get Ahead: I joined in July 2024, 2 years into my VA journey. I firmly believe in collaboration, not competition in the freelancer world and due to my specialism being Neurodivergent and Disability I know there are always going to be clients that require that.
Get Ahead are industry leaders and I know that will only allow me to continue in my growth, whilst also providing the ability for me to support a wider range of clients.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have been a freelancer since 2011, starting out in QA and Regulatory in the finance world. I have extensive experience as a PA, then EA and eventually that became operations support.
When I was diagnosed with ADHD and high-functioning Autism in 2021, I knew I wanted to make a change and decided to become a neurodiverse specialist VA.
Alongside being a VA I also work 10 hours a week for Fujitsu in a tech role as I like to keep my tech knowledge sharp, to provide this service to my clients.
Career highlight to date:
I’m incredibly proud of being involved in the Haribo is 100 campaign and particularly that I got to dress up as a Haribo Gold Bear on one occasion.
Plans for the future:
I’d plan to build a team of strong, Neurodivergent specialist VA’s, who are able to assist clients with all the extra challenges that brings, when running a business. I’m also studying various elements of IT as I’d like to build bespoke systems and/or tweak existing ones to be able to best suit my clients.
