When and why did you join Get Ahead
I joined Get Ahead VA in November 2018 after a friend recommended it to me. Having two young children, I was searching for a job that would offer me the flexibility to be there for my family whilst also having a career and doing a job that I love. After meeting with Rebecca, I knew Get Ahead was the company for me!
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA
I have worked as an office manager and as the PA to two directors, as well as an assistant to five field-based managers. These were extremely busy and varied roles that required me to demonstrate strong communication skills, along with excellent judgement and initiative. Working in such a fast-paced environment, I found that no two days were ever the same – from diary management, to proofreading, to formatting client proposals, to booking travel and managing the quarterly marketing campaigns. Luckily, I am a great multi-tasker who loves being organised and is always willing to go that extra mile.
Career highlight to date:
I organised and managed a charity event to raise money for a colleague’s daughter to receive life-changing treatment in the United States. Through lots of hard work and other people’s incredible generosity, the event achieved its target and the operation has made a significant difference to the little girl’s quality of life. This was an incredibly rewarding experience.
Plans for the future:
I love being a virtual expert as it offers me the perfect work/life balance – doing what I love and providing excellent support for clients, whilst also being there for my young family. My plans for the future are to continue supporting business owners, whilst using the flexibility that being a virtual expert offers to ensure lots of fun with my family.
