When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead VA in 2013. It seemed like a great opportunity to increase the variety in my writing and I find it’s really encouraging and supportive to be part of a team too.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
A million things! My last “conventional” job was at a busy London tree charity, then I had my baby break. I started up as a freelance copywriter in 2012.
Career highlight to date:
Rewriting an important document about Westminster Abbey. The original had been composed by a widely-published scholar and expert on the Abbey and I am proud to say he loved the reader-friendly version I produced.
Plans for the future:
A million more things! I’m always looking to broaden the scope of my writing. I’m really confident about small business blogging but I’d like to write about charities and ideas too. And – just for me – I’d like to write a poem I’m pleased with.
