When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in April 2015. I was already working as a freelance Virtual Assistant and knew it was the path for me. I love being my own boss, having the flexibility to fit my family life around my work and to work on such a wide variety of projects. Being part of such a super passionate and inspirational team at Get Ahead VA is very rewarding.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I was already working as a Virtual Assistant supporting a variety of clients and their businesses. Before becoming a VA I owned a Bar and Restaurant, and prior to that I spent a number of years managing salons in the beauty industry so I have plenty of first-hand experience of the demands and challenges of running your own business. I understand exactly the kind of support that business owners need and how to deliver it.
Career highlight to date:
I was delighted to support one the country’s top female entrepreneurs for a number of years. She was recently voted by the Institute of Directors as one of the country’s top 6 most connected women. It was a complex and challenging role which was also extremely rewarding.
Plans for the future:
Workwise I am looking forward to continuing to support my clients and make their lives run smoother and more efficiently. Outside of work I am looking forward to some exciting trips this year including some sunshine on holiday in Antigua and visiting the International Radio Festival in Milan with my husband who works in the radio industry.
