When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in March 2023. I liked the idea of being a part of a team of experts that I can work along with and bounce ideas off. Get Ahead appealed to me because they offer clients a complete package of services. We all have our different strengths and Get Ahead utilizes the whole team to deliver the best services to their clients. With my customer service background, this really resonated with me as I believe the core of a business is client satisfaction.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I had my own corporate gifting and branding business in South Africa for 8 years. When the pandemic hit and my business slowed down, I expanded my interests into VA work. I was the Winelands Chapter Manager for a global organization, Entrepreneurs Organization, and managed the Cape Town chapter’s Accelerator programme. When I immigrated to the UK two years ago, I was the VA to a founder of an online curated gifting company. Currently I am a VA to a business coach supporting him with programme management.
Career highlight to date:
A career highlight would be my role as a Chapter Manager for Entrepreneurs Organisation. The role involved supporting over 10 board members at a time and being the gatekeeper between them, over 100 of the chapter’s members and global staff. It was a busy role, but I enjoyed working with different personalities and getting insight into many tasks such as event management, bookkeeping, recruitment, CRM management and my most favourite – SOP’s.
Plans for the future:
Get Ahead offers me the perfect opportunity to have a successful career as well as being a present mum. My plan is to continue using my experience and skillset to support business owners in a VA role, and using the flexibility it offers to go on as many adventures as possible with my family.
