When & why did you join Get Ahead VA:
I joined Get Ahead VA in April 2022. Having been a freelance VA for a year, I was ready to be a part of a bigger team and share my skills with a wider range of clients.
I feel like being a freelancer was made for me. I am self-motivated and naturally organised and creative. I love the freedom of being a freelancer and the opportunity to work with a varied client base is great.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA:
I was an Operations Manager for a luxury jeweller for 5 years until getting made redundant due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Prior to that, I worked as a Store Manager and then Area Manager for the same company.
I have also worked for P&O Cruises and ran the ticket office of a Premier League football club.
I have worked alongside many luxury brands such as Rolex, Pandora Jewellery, major concerts and events and the TV industry, a well as small family businesses.
Career highlight to date:
Being promoted to Area Manager for 10 Pandora retail stores across Yorkshire was my career highlight with my previous employer, but I am extremely proud of starting my own business, especially during a global pandemic! I am very optimistic and am pleased I could find something positive out of a negative situation.
Plans for the future: I plan to keep building my VA business alongside Get Ahead VA. My goal is to have a better Work/Life balance as a solo parent, whilst still giving excellent support to my clients.
I am enjoying learning new skills too, and plan to further hone my skillset as I grow my business and share this expertise with my clients.
My long term goal is to have a second home by the sea, or in Paris, I don’t mind which!
