When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in October 2022 but I have been working alone as a VA since 2017. Get Ahead looks like a friendly community and being part of a team appealed to me. I would also like to expand my skillset with new opportunities.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I’ve worked in admin-based positions for over 20 years across many types of organisations, both public and private sectors, from small companies to education to legal corporate environments, with experience in recruitment, HR and now as a Personal Assistant.
Career highlight to date:
Being told I was a safe pair of hands and trusted to use my initiative in a stand-alone role. Most recently I completed a thorough online research project on food consumerism, where the client feedback was glowing and made me feel a real sense of achievement!
Plans for the future:
To continue honing my organisational and admin skills and learning new things by supporting small businesses with their admin tasks so they are freed up to focus on their wider business. As a VA no two days are the same and I enjoy the variety and flexibility in brings.
