When & why did you join Get Ahead:
In November of this year, I joined Get Ahead as part of an exciting new venture. Having recently left my previous employer where I gained 10 years’ worth of valuable event management experience. Together with Get Ahead, I hope to develop and grow clients’ businesses whilst establishing new inspiring relationships by assisting them with their business needs.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
Before joining Get Ahead, I held the position of Regional Operations Manager for the UK at a not-for-profit trade association involved in energy and infrastructure project financing. As part of my branch strategy, I developed events (both virtual and in-person), member retention and development, marketing, and brand awareness initiatives. Building relationships with senior leaders in their fields as well as government agencies was an important part of the role. It taught me valuable skills such as time management, multitasking, good communication, computer, and marketing skills that will help me be successful at Get Ahead.
Career highlight to date:
Working for a fantastic organisation the last 10 years has included many highlights which have helped me grow not only professionally but also personally. Seeing my growth from assisting with events to leading, coordinating, and growing our largest and most important regions’ operations. Being able to liaise with a variety of senior leaders has helped and highlighted my confidence with public speaking and overall personal development.
Plans for the future:
As an aspiring entrepreneur, I am eager to begin this new chapter with Get Ahead, where I hope to find the flexibility and variety I am looking for. The opportunity to hone my skills and develop new ones while meeting new clients and helping them achieve their business goals would be fantastic, while also helping me achieve my goal of having a flexible work life balance.
