When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in September 2023, shortly after becoming a freelance PR manager and content writer. One of the reasons I joined was their focus on small businesses. I love working closely with clients, developing positive relationships, and supporting the hard work they do.
As a mum of two and working full-time, Get Ahead also provides me with the flexibility I need to run a successful freelancing business while still having time to look after my family.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
Before joining Get Ahead, I worked as a Senior Account Manager at a busy PR agency in Southampton. In my role, I worked with many local organisations, particularly the charity, retail, and property sectors, delivering creative and impactful campaigns that drove positive conversations and delivered clear results.
Career highlight to date:
I led the successful social media and press office initiatives for the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s Covid Recovery Campaign in which a significant sum needed to be raised in a short amount of time. My colleague and I delivered external communications across various platforms, including press, websites, social media, and newsletters. Our aim was to raise the profile of the campaign and ensure the trust met its fundraising targets before the deadline.
Plans for the future:
My plan for the future is to enjoy the journey that freelancing will take me on. I’m really looking forward to growing my business, meeting new people, and have a lot of fun along the way
