When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead VA in March 2022 after working from home in a self-employed capacity for several years and loving the flexibility that it brings. Joining the Get Ahead VA team seemed like the next logical step in my VA journey with the added bonus of being part of a team again!
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have twenty-five years’ experience in sales, administration, marketing, and events, in a wide range of industries including Financial Services, Technology, Market Research and Construction.
Over the years I have acquired a broad range of transferrable skills which I can bring to any administration or marketing project. I love to project manage and take on tasks from start to completion in a timely manner.
I have been self-employed for almost 10 years and am a great self-starter, happy to hit the ground running with a new client or project.
Alongside the “day job”, I also run my husband’s carpentry business which includes all administration and marketing activities.
Career highlight to date:
On a personal level, taking the plunge to move away from the safety net of a full-time role into the world of freelance, whilst raising three children and running another business. I can definitely multi-task!
On a corporate level, successfully managing several conferences from start to finish, with over 200 attendees and speakers.
Plans for the future:
To continue to share my knowledge and experience and help SME’s and entrepreneurs with the day to day running of their businesses, helping them to grow and free up precious time.
