When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I had my little girl in July 2020and just knew I had to get out of the hamster wheel of the 9-5, after the usual hour commute to my (then) office I missed out on so much precious time that people tell you about when they are so small. As soon as I met Fiona and Sarah, I just knew I had to work for them, they were so personable and so passionate about helping businesses, just like I was. Get Ahead is great for all businesses and no matter what help you need, everyone is just so willing and eager to help.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I worked in an accountancy practice for over 11 years and then went to one of the big 4 accountancy firms but just knew I needed to be hands on with clients business. I started out at the very bottom, tea making, postal duties and very basic bookkeeping but I LOVED every second of it, I still always make a round of brews and love love the bookkeeping energy and just how much it helps out businesses of all sizes. I really enjoy getting to know peoples ‘why’ and helping them do their admin and bookkeeping means they can enjoy that why a little bit more.
Career highlight to date:
Spending 11 year growing and making a lot of clients very happy and making some life long friends in the mean time.
Plans for the future:
Living a balanced life… I think everyone will say this and getting that all perfect balance may be different for us all but making the world a better place for my little one is also done by more smiles, less waste and more paperless bookkeeping.
