Here at Get Ahead VA our people are everything. Our ever growing team has a wide range of highly skilled professionals with different backgrounds, expertise and even different personalities to ensure that we can find exactly the right VA to match our customers’ requirements.

Here’s 60 seconds with our VA Fliss Foster:

Name:   Fliss Foster

Area of expertise:

Board level PA, VA & Admin – ‘the glue that holds it all together’

When & why did you join Get Ahead VA:

I am a new team member and love the flexibility of VA work having worked freelance for some years.  I love working from home after many years of commuting to and working in the City!  I like the outdoor life so moved to the Kent coast where I enjoy coastal walks and bike rides.  I am taking time to develop my many creative interests – writing books, learning to play guitar, keeping my Spanish skills up to date, artwork/crafting, natural health and sailing.

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA:

My varied career has resulted in a diverse skill set across many sectors (Medical, Leadership Coaching, HR, L&D, Talent Management, Start-up/Entrepreneurs, Legal, Banking and Education).  I temped and contracted for years and thrived on being able to ‘hit the ground running’.  I have been described by more that one employer as ‘being the glue that holds it all together’ and always been considered to be an integral part of the team throughout my career.

I am flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude and have the ability to multi-task and generally rise to the occasion! I love working with people and learning about the businesses to ensure clients experience excellent customer service.

Career highlight to date:

Most recently, getting my first freelance PA client to help deliver bespoke Leadership Workshops to Directors and Management.  And supporting an amazing Talent Management Director deliver CPD in Latin America – from London – on a job share basis with my colleague in Mexico!  That was when I learned that technology would enable a whole new way of working.

Plans for the future:

Develop my natural health business and creative pursuits and get fit for a physical challenge to raise money for The British Heart Foundation whose research saved my brother’s life last year.
