When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in June 2023 after seeing the agency recommended by the Society of Virtual Assistants.
I would like to expand my client portfolio and felt that this was the right route for me to pursue and to also feel part of a supportive community of like-minded individuals.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have been working as a self-employed Virtual Executive Assistant / Bookkeeper since 2016.
Prior to 2016, I worked in an employed capacity for a variety of companies in diverse industries, predominantly as an Executive Assistant / Office Manager.
Career highlight to date:
From 2009 until 2016, I worked in the wine industry, which was a steep learning curve, lots of fun and extremely rewarding. I was incredibly lucky to have the opportunity during this time to travel to Chile and Argentina, as well as to work for a world-renowned English sparkling wine producer, Nyetimber. During my time with Nyetimber, I successfully achieved my WSET Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits as well as learnt all about hosting wine tastings, managing vineyards and what it takes to organise a grape harvest with over 300 grape pickers.
Plans for the future:
To keep learning, grow my business as my son gets older and more independent and to always be open to new opportunities and adventures!
