How do blog writing services help SEO?

Blog writing services help SEO in many ways. When you optimise your website for a search engine, you take steps to help the search engine find it. Adding blogs is one of those steps.

In this blog, we look at four ways in which writing and publishing regular blogs boosts your search engine rankings.

  1. Keywords

Keywords are central to SEO. Google and other search engines look for words on your website that correspond to what their users are searching for.

However, putting the keywords on your website so that Google can find them can be difficult. If you force it, the search engine algorithm will perceive you are “keyword stuffing.” This is when you overuse a keyword in an attempt to increase its chances of being found, but you end up creating something that’s either not readable or is “trying too hard.”

Fortunately, a blog provides a great opportunity for including keywords. If you have a real subject to write about, that’s of genuine relevance to your business, then the keywords will crop up naturally. They won’t feel like over-kill and they will help your search engine ranking.

  1. Longer content

Search engines like longer content. It gives them more to read and more indications that you are genuine about what you do. With longer content, Google can be fairly confident that the keywords aren’t just incidental but actually relate to your core business.

When we say “longer content,” we mean web pages with more than three hundred words – the longer the better.

The problem is that you don’t necessarily need three hundred words to say what you need to on your website. Indeed, there are a surprising number of overwritten websites out there, with so much text on the main pages of that no one actually wants to read them. Of course, if you can put that much meaningful text on one page then that’s a good thing for SEO, but it’s important not to force it.

Blogging is the solution to the problem of longer content. This is because everyone expects a blog to be at least three hundred words. And if the topic is worth writing about, the chances are the blog will be well over the minimum length anyway.

  1. Fresh content

Another thing that search engines look for is fresh content that’s been added recently. This is because it shows that your business is current. If you haven’t touched your website for two years, it might be because you’ve closed your business – Google can’t tell.

While a six-month or annual website review is a good idea, you don’t want to be rewriting your pages every month – it’s not sustainable.

Fortunately, regular blogging is a natural part of digital marketing and content marketing. It’s an opportunity to go into more detail about a particular aspect of your business. And in so doing, you’re adding new content to your website.

  1. Increase your traffic

The people behind search engines try very hard to generate results that their users will want to see. For this reason, they put popular websites at the top of the search. If lots of people are finding that information helpful, there’s a higher chance that the person doing the latest search will find it helpful too.

So, how do blogs help? Well, when you publish a blog, it will drive traffic in the ways we’ve already talked about. But it will also drive traffic to your site via social media, providing you share your blogs on LinkedIn or Facebook or wherever your clients hang out. The more people you have looking at your site, the more search engines will think you’re the go-to business for whatever it is you do. This means the search engine is more likely to put your website near the top of the search.
