Area of expertise:
I am an experienced stand-alone human resources generalist with over 14 years’ experience in the charity sector. I am accustomed to processing and maintaining all human resources records in accordance with GDPR, using Microsoft Office suite, Teemseer, People HR, FreeAgent and bespoke charity CRM systems.
I have written and implemented two staff handbooks, one for office-based staff and one for remote staff, into which I have incorporated equal opportunity, fair recruitment and volunteering, and safeguarding policies, among others.
In my last human resources role, as well as during the course of my HR consultancy work, I have been responsible for the full employment cycle, including; recruitment, selection, onboarding, induction, and all contractual documentation.
When & why did you join Get Ahead:
I joined Get Ahead in March 2023, and I am excited to be part of the team of experts and to be able to offer my wide range of experience and expertise through the Get Ahead platform.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have worked as a freelance HR Consultant since August 2021. Before that I worked as Head of HR & Office Manager for an international charity, and before that, I was a secondary teacher.
Career highlight to date:
I work well independently, and also greatly enjoy working as a team in support of others, helping them to reach their full potential.
An annual highlight of my charity career was organising and leading extended trips for benefactors to the charity’s project countries in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Plans for the future:
My plans for the future include continuing to offer my experience and expertise on a flexible basis.
