When & why did you join Get Ahead VA:

I have just joined Get Ahead VA and I am really looking forward to helping as many businesses as possible.  I have over 20 years of experience, mainly in administration and after being made redundant last year I took the huge setting up my own business as a Virtual Assistant.  Can’t wait to start working with Get Ahead VA.

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA:

I worked for a large Utility company supporting members of the senior leadership team (and Exec members when required).  Working for the company for over 14 years, I was able to grow my skill set and I jumped at the chance to take on a volunteer role of Chief Fire officer.  Looking after a team of volunteers responsible for 1200 staff & guests safety.  The last 9 months I managed a 24/7 team and looked after the security of the sites across the estate, while assisting in running a programme worth over 3 million pounds.

Career highlight to date:

Managing a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre for a large Utilities company.  Learning a different part of the business and being able to hit the ground running.  Looking after the training, streamlining documentation and procedures.

Plans for the future:

Helping businesses to run smoothly and knowing that we can continually find the right solution for each company we work with.
