Volunteer Recognition Day

Volunteer Recognition Day

Volunteer Recognition Day

Volunteer Recognition Day is on 20th April this year and is designed to honour the efforts of all those volunteering in any capacity, anywhere around the world.  Volunteers give up their time and make a massive difference to charities, organisations and even businesses.  They help others in all manner of ways – from volunteer community bus drivers to volunteer doctors working in Africa, they all donate their skills and time, expecting nothing in return.

Volunteering gives these people a sense of worth – an altruistic feeling of comfort and reward in being able to help others, but it can also develop important personal and even technical skills and in some cases lead to business opportunities or employment.

20th April is an opportunity to make a particular effort to thank any volunteers involved in your organisation, your business, or your local area that make such a difference.  It is also a chance to think about how you could volunteer and help others benefit from your skills and time, or how using volunteers could make a difference to your business.  Why not get out of the office for the day and find a local charity that might need some help?  You might be surprised where it could lead you and how positive it might make you feel.

Here at Get Ahead VA we might not be volunteers, but we are certainly here to support organisations and businesses in any way we can so that they can get back to what they do best.  We are the staff you don’t see, but the difference you do.  Please give us a call on 01483 332220 or email us at office@getaheadva.com to find out how we can help.
