When & why did you join Get Ahead VA: I came across Get Ahead VA on Twitter and thought the business model was really interesting. I tweeted Rebecca to find out more and it seemed like a perfect fit. I never thought I would get a job through Twitter, but very shortly afterwards on 4th July 2016 I started working with the team.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA: Over the past decade I have worked in marketing, communications and administration across a wide range of sectors. I have worked for some big brands including The Big Lottery Fund and Arriva Trains Wales as well as some smaller companies. I love working with people and businesses to help them showcase their products and services online.
Career highlight to date: In one of my previous roles I quadrupled the organisation’s Facebook following and more than doubled their Welsh language Twitter following within one year. In another role I managed to increase sign ups to an online service by 25% in two months. I love learning about new applications and services that can benefit my clients; saving them time and money.
Plans for the future: I am looking forward to working as part of the Get Ahead VA team as well as running my own digital marketing business on the side. I have always wanted to run my own business and now is the time! I also have a passion for environmentalism and hope to do more with that in the future.
