Thursday 5th March is World Book Day and whilst schools across the globe will be celebrating, we also thought it would be a good time to highlight some of our favourite business books.
Business books is big industry and just one search into Google will bring up countless lists of what people think are the best business books of all time. There are even books written about the best business books of all time! There appears to be no hard and fast list of the best, though those that often come up include ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change’ by Stephen R. Covey, ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie and ‘Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't’ by James C. Collins. We particularly like the sound of ‘The 4–Hour Work Week’ by Tim Ferriss!
Here at Get Ahead VA we are currently loving 'The LinkedIn Code' by Melonie Dodaro. Melonie Dodaro is the founder of Top Dog Social Media, a social media agency that helps brands, businesses, professionals and sales teams use social media marketing and social selling to boost their visibility, attract new customers and increase their revenue. The book is all about how to unlock ‘The Largest Online Business Social Network To Get Leads, Prospects & Clients for B2B, Professional Services and Sales & Marketing Pros’ and is so far a great read, full of lots of practical hints and tips that we are already putting into practise.
Of course when it comes to books these days there is also the technology debate: Kindle or paperback? Despite embracing the digital age of virtual working we are still fans of the good old fashioned paperback – though on holiday it has to be Kindle all the way for its space saving capacity.
