We enjoyed an action packed day at The Business Show in London this week. It was great to see Olympia packed with so many business owners and budding entrepreneurs. The show also had a global feel with the Going Global summit being open alongside the show.
The networking opportunities were many and varied and we particularly enjoyed the Speed Networking session. The pace was fast and frenetic and it was great to meet so many new faces from a variety of industries. Our top tip if you are attending a Speed Networking event such as this is to bring a leaflet with you to help. In a conference hall background noise is high so having a visual aid such as a leaflet can help others to understand what you do quickly and effectively, as well as become a giveaway that they can take away to digest later.
There were a vast array of exhibition stands from suppliers including lawyers, digital marketing agencies, accountants, HR support services, business magazines and IT services to name just a few. In this kind of environment it definitely pays to prepare before you arrive and know the stands you want to visit. It can be overwhelming when you first walk in the door and your time is money so you need to use it wisely. Work your way around the stands and suppliers that are likely to be the most useful for your business. Have an idea of the questions you want to ask and think about what you really need to know. Don’t leave until you have found out!
