Many people have personal profiles set up on Linkedin, but they do not always realise that they could have a Linkedin profile set up for their company as well. Free and easy to set up, all you need is a business specific email address (Linkedin do not allow you to use a generic email host such as Gmail, Hotmail or BTinternet) and you can get started by clicking on ‘Interests,’ ‘Companies’ and then the ‘Add a company’ link.
Each Company profile allows you to add summary landing page images and text and then list your products and services with accompanying text, images and even video and website links. It provides a great opportunity to showcase your company and your services and give browsers an insight into your business. Once complete, it can then be linked back to your personal profile.
One of the major benefits of having a company LinkedIn page is that you can ask people to provide recommendations for your products or services. We all know that word of mouth is the most effective form of advertising and being able to link this directly to your Linkedin page can be a powerful tool – just like hosting testimonials or reviews on your website.
Of course setting up your page is just the start of the process and making the page work through regular updates and promotion to followers all help to make it an effective part of marketing your business.
