How To Dress For The Home Office

Did you know that Friday 20th June is National Fit Flop day in America?  This got us thinking about business dress and the debate about whether flip flops are ever acceptable work wear or not.  Of course it depends on the type of business and the personnel and work involved.  Clearly if you work in a fit flop retailer it would be but in a corporate London lawyers office maybe not?

Dressing for the office if you work from home is just as important as considering how you would dress for a more standard office environment.  Yes, theoretically, if you have no Skype chats scheduled you could sit at your computer in your pyjamas, but we wouldn’t recommend it.  It can be difficult to keep boundaries between home and office life when you work from home but dressing as if you were going to work will help put you in the right frame for doing business.  Particularly when making phone calls you might be surprised at how different you can sound when sat at your desk rather than relaxing on a sun lounger or tucked up in bed.  Maintaining a professional outlook is key to ensuring the effectiveness of your home office space.

Working from home can make you feel like your whole business rests solely on your shoulders but our team of highly experienced virtual assistants are here to help share the load.  We pride ourselves on being the staff you don’t see, but the difference you do.

Please feel free to give us a call on 01483 332220 or email us at office@getaheadva.com to find out more about our cost effective services and enable you to get back to what you do best – growing your business.
