Being a small business owner can be hugely empowering and inspiring, but it can sometimes be challenging too. You may work a lot on your own, feeling like you have to make all the decisions. Sometimes it can be helpful to have someone else to bounce ideas off and to help you focus and having the right business coach to help you do that could be a real asset.
A business coach can be there to help you, your business or both. It could be specifically about the business – what it is doing, where it is going, but it could also be about you – how you can manage the business more effectively. You may think having a business coach is relevant when things aren’t going so well – when you need to refocus and get back on track and it certainly can be effective then. But a business coach can also be of great value when the business is doing well in order to help you continue to strive forwards, become more efficient and profitable, learn from why business is going well and continue to plan for the next steps ahead.
Business coaching might seem like an unnecessary expense – a ‘nice to have’ that you have neither time or money for, but it might actually be the investment that makes the single biggest difference to your business. If you find someone suitable you might even be able to make it a reciprocal agreement, where you coach each other and your investment is time rather than money.
Here at Get Ahead VA we are firm supporters of business coaches. Our Director Rebecca says: ‘My business coach is fantastic. She really challenges me to step back from the day to day and look ahead at the bigger picture as to how we can continue to develop and grow the business in the future.’
If you think you and your business could benefit from some coaching too then we can point you in the right direction. Please give us a call on 01483 332220 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more details.
