What situation was your business in when you came to Get Ahead VA?
Our clinic was busy which was great – but it meant our time was getting stretched. As therapists we wanted to be looking after patients. We knew social media was a great opportunity for marketing our business and we had set up our Facebook page, but we were struggling to find the time to maintain it properly.
What problems were you experiencing?
We were struggling to find the time to really make social media effective for us. We had set up the Facebook page but our posts were very much ad hoc, not planned or consistent. We had the tool, but we needed help to maximise its potential.
What might have happened if you hadn’t taken any action?
We would have carried on with occasional posts which were good, but not as effective as a regular, ongoing presence.
How did Get Ahead VA help solve the problem for you?
I met Rebecca Newenham of Get Ahead VA at a local networking event and it sounded like the perfect solution. They could offer the social media management that we needed. We didn’t want to pay for a whole social media strategy and we didn’t need someone to set up our social media accounts as that was already done. Get Ahead VA were flexible and able to slot in exactly the service we were looking for.
Why did you choose a VA and not a part time member of staff?
There wasn’t enough work for a part time member of staff. We really just needed somebody to work for a couple of hours a week and a virtual assistant was able to offer that. The flexibility has worked really well for us. I can just fire things over as and when I come across them. Our virtual assistant always seems to be available and happy to help even though we only pay for a few hours per week.
What has this meant to you and your business?
It’s a real relief to know that we have regular help that we can rely on. We know posts are scheduled in advance so we can relax and get back to delivering the best care we can for our patients.
