What situation was your business in when you came to Get Ahead VA?  I first started working with Get Ahead VA three years ago.  Being self-employed, I was doing everything myself at the time.  My business was growing but I felt I was drowning in administration and paperwork.

What problems were you experiencing?   When you are self-employed there is so much you have to do just to run your business – let alone delivering for your clients.  I was spending so much time on booking flights and hotels for conferences I was attending, as well as preparing presentation materials and trying to get my books finished, not to mention keeping track of tax, receipts and finances.

What might have happened if you hadn’t taken any action?  My business would have continued to grow, but at a much slower pace than I wanted.

How did Get Ahead VA help solve the problem for you?  The Get Ahead VA team have been fantastic.  Over the past three years they have solved a wide variety of problems for me from basic administration through to proof reading, Powerpoint work and even designing and building my new website www.cvacentral.com.  

Why did you choose a VA and not a part time member of staff?  A part time member of staff just wouldn’t work for me as my requirements vary so much.  One week I might need full time support, and then the next week require nothing.  Around conferences my main requirement is administration, but at other times I have needed website design or proofreading skills.  

What has this meant to you and your business?   Working with a team like Get Ahead VA which is so flexible has meant I can pay for exactly what I need, when I need it.  I get to work with experts in their fields and benefit from an entire team of specialists.  This has enabled me to get back to what I do best – growing my business.
