Here’s 60 seconds with one of our clients Moritz Schmittat, a wedding photographer in Surrey who was struggling to juggle the demands of delivering day-to-day tasks as well as developing his business for the future:
What situation was your business in when you came to Get Ahead VA? I found myself in a situation that I was turning down business because I was spending too much time on admin. My business was growing well and I wanted to focus more on business development rather than on day-to-day tasks. There simply weren’t enough hours in the day to do everything.
What problems were you experiencing? I was stressed out trying to combine running AND developing my business. I was trying to be photographer, accountant, administrator, sales person, marketing team and everything else all at once. Admin was holding me back.
What might have happened if you hadn’t taken any action? I simply wouldn’t have been able to grow the business at the rate I wanted to.
How did Get Ahead VA help solve the problem for you? Working with Get Ahead VA has been a real eye opening experience. To begin with I only had a vague idea of what Get Ahead VA could do for me. Bit by bit they showed me what they could deliver. My Virtual Assistant Jenny is now doing many different tasks for me. She is managing all of my marketing, CRM and even some creative tasks like photo album making. These tasks have now been taken off my ‘to do’ list and Jenny has consistently proven they are in safe hands.
Why did you choose a virtual assistant (VA) and not a part time member of staff?For me the flexibility of a VA was the key. I wasn’t ready to commit to hiring a part time member of staff and expanding my business in that way. Being able to pay by the hour for only the services I needed, as and when I needed them was the best solution.
What has this meant to you and your business? I now spend more time taking photographs and developing my business – doing what I do best. I spend less time behind the computer taking care of admin and all the tasks that have to get done, but that can be effectively delegated to other people. I can market my more business more effectively and generate the future growth I am looking for. I feel as though my problems are behind me and I am moving forwards with an excellent partner by my side.”
