Easter is often seen as a time of new beginnings. Coinciding with Spring, with trees bursting into blossom as well as lambs being born, there is a sense of new life and new opportunity.

It can be easy to get bogged down in the day to day running of your business. Sometimes things are going generally well and you can get stuck in a bit of a safe zone. If not, here are our five suggestions to help you grow your business this Easter:
- Sell new products or services – Are there products or services missing from what you offer? Competitor research can be really useful here. Are there things they offer that you currently do not? And if so could you?
- Find new customers. Have you got a marketing plan in place to target new customers? If not, you should do. Make it as specific as possible in order to maximise its effectiveness. Are you targeting a local area or nationwide? Have you evaluated all the different marketing tools available to you – online and offline advertising, PR, social media, video and web, sales incentives etc? Decide which ones fit best with your target audience and implement tactics accordingly.
- Sell more to existing customers. Depending on your product or service, you may be able to cross sell additional items to boost their overall spend. Email marketing can be a great tool for this if you have the right database behind it.
- Spend less. What is your objective? If your growth target is really bottom line profit rather than top line revenue then making savings may be the best strategy for you to focus on. Breakdown the costs in your business on a monthly and annual basis. Can you switch suppliers to find cheaper alternatives? Are there services you could do without, at least on a short-term basis? Review and then take the necessary action.
- Consider a partnership. Do you know someone or a business that provides a complementary service to yours? Perhaps an accountant and a financial planner? Or a marketing and a design business? Or an event management company and a hotel? Working together may enable you to pool your resources and achieve more as a whole. You might consider putting on joint events, enabling you to share the costs. Or incentive schemes where you can refer business either way to boost both your revenue streams.
